Become a Teacher’s Aide with this qualification.

The CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support will give you a qualification that allows you to help the needs of young children with different needs in a variety of education setting including the home or school.

You will be eligible for roles such as a home tutor or teachers aide and assist students with disabilities.

If you are looking for a role where you can have a positive impact on the lives of children then this is the course for you.

This qualification is a requirement for anyone wishing to work as a teacher’s aide.

 

To attain the CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support students will need to complete:

17 units of competency:

  • 12 core units
  • 5 elective units and;
  • at least 100 hours of work placement – included in this course!

CHCECE006 – Support behaviour of children and young people

CHCEDS001 – Comply with legislative, policy and industrial requirements in the education environment

CHCEDS002 – Assist implementation of planned educational programs

CHCEDS003 – Contribute to student education in all developmental domains

CHCEDS004 – Contribute to organisation and management of classroom or centre

CHCEDS005 – Support the development of literacy and oral language skills

CHCEDS006 – Support the development of numeracy skills

CHCEDS007 – Work effectively with students and colleagues

CHCEDS017 – Contribute to the health and safety of students

CHCEDS018 – Support students with additional needs in the classroom environment

HLTHIR403C – Work effectively with culturally diverse clients and co-workers

HLTHIR404D – Work effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people

Elective Units

CHCECE003 – Provide care for children

CHCEDS008 – Comply with school administrative requirements

CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk

HLTAID004 – Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

HLTWHS001 – Participate in work health and safety

Work placement

This education support course includes a compulsory number of 100 hours of practical placement.

 

Duration:  Approximately 12 months which includes class time plus 100 hours of placement.

On average a learner should allocate 25 hours per week for learning and assessments.

Dual Course Option

Students enrolling into this education support course also have an option of enrolling intoCHC30113Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Individuals would need to fulfil the following requirements:

  • *Aged 18 years or above,
  • Pre – Training Review
  • Successfully pass a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment

*if you are aged 18 years and below, further approvals may be required from the training provider.

Additional Requirements

*Students must hold the following before commencing work placement:

  • Complete 3 units
  • First Aid Certificate
  • A Current Working with Children’s Check
  • A valid National Police Check
