CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) **VIC**

This qualification is ideal for preparing to apply as a Registered Builder or gaining a more senior role on site.  

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) prescribes this course as a relevant qualification for Domestic Builders Registration (Page 5, Part C – Victorian Builders Registration Application 2016)

Entry Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in building trades and/or with Cert III Apprenticeship in a building trade

Dual qualifications in CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) AND BSB41212 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety may be available.

Course Structure

Participants need to complete 16 units of competency to be awarded the qualification CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building):

CPCCBC4001A  Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for low rising building projects
CPCCBC4002A  Manage occupational health and safety in the building and construction workplace
CPCCBC4003A  Select and prepare a construction contract
CPCCBC4004A  Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects
CPCCBC4005A  Produce labour and material schedules for ordering
CPCCBC4006B  Select, procure and store construction materials for low rise projects
CPCCBC4007A  Plan building or construction work
CPCCBC4008B  Conduct on-site supervision of building and construction
CPCCBC4009B  Apply legal requirements to building and construction projects
CPCCBC4010B  Apply structural principles to residential low rise constructions
CPCCBC4011B  Apply structural principles to commercial low rise constructions
CPCCBC4012B  Read and interpret plans and specifications
BSBSMB406A   Manage small business finances
BSBMGT403A  Implement continuous improvement
CPCCBC4024A  Resolve business disputes

Course features

Entry Requirements

  • No course pre-requisites.
  • Industry experience combined with basic math and computer skills an advantage.
  • Applicant’s will be required to complete TIV’s Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment and  pass all components.
