To achieve the CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care,  you must successfully complete:

Total number of units = 28

  • 23 core units
  • 5 elective units and;
  • at least 240 hours of industry work placement

Start date & duration:

  • Immediate start for students who elect to undertake distance learning
  • Monthly enrolment intakes for classroom based learning
  • Full-time: 18 months (including 240 hours of placement)
  • Part-time: Distance Learning only – 36 months (including 240 hours of placement)

Work Placement: To achieve this qualification a minimum work placement 240 hours must be completed.

Entry Requirements:

There are no academic pre-requisites for this course.

However, you will be required to apply for and pass a Working With Children Check as relevant to your State or Territory, as this is a mandatory requirement for Vocational Placement.

You will also be required to provide a:

  • Yr 12 Certificate OR
  • Successfully pass a Language, Literacy & Numeracy Assessment.
