CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) **VIC**

The CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) will take your career further. This qualification meets the Victorian Building Authority’s (VBA) requirements for a prescribed course for registration as a Domestic Builder (Unlimited).

**This course is available to study in class in Victoria and/or via the virtual classroom (online) across Australia. 

You will learn how to:

  • supervise construction work
  • apply structural principles to building work
  • evaluate tender documentation
  • hire contractors and
  • produce cost estimations for building and construction projects.

Nationally accredited training is delivered by our partner RTOs (see details below).

If you have completed CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction then there may be a few units that you don’t have to complete – as they could be credit transferred.

Course Features

  • It is run BY builders FOR builders.
  • This course contributes to the requirements for a range of builders licenses in most Australian states.

Delivery: 

  • Class-based and typically run 2 nights per week, over 40-51 weeks
  • Students have a maximum of 12 months to complete the program.

Entry Requirements:

  • Are at least 18 years of age AND
  • Are competent in written and spoken English AND
  • Must pass a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy activity (government requirement) AND
  • Relevant industry experience is mandatory
  • Eligible students should either have a completed CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building) and/or prove 5+ years working in the building sector.

Course Features

  • Meets the Victorian Building Authority’s requirements for a prescribed course for registration as a Domestic Builder (Unlimited) and Commercial Builder (Unlimited).
  • Covers the skills and knowledge on which applicants are examined by the Building Practitioners Board for registration as a residential or commercial builder.

Delivery: 

  • Class-based and typically run 1 evening per week plus 14 Saturday’s over 9 months.
  • Participants are expected to spend additional time between sessions undertaking self study, inspecting buildings under construction, and preparing and completing assignments.

Entry Requirements:

  • No course pre-requisites.
  • Industry experience combined with basic math and computer skills an advantage.
  • Applicants who have already completed CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) may be eligible for credit transfers.
  • Applicant’s will be required to complete TIV’s Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment and  pass all components.

Locations:

Hands on learning from industry professionals at multiple locations throughout Melbourne, Victoria.
